When an assembly is exported to a neutral format such as step or iges, the translator will set the internal 0,0,0 point of each file at the location of the file UCS_10. Often though, UCS_10 is irrelevant to the part and better control is desired. This is provided by the export parameter Assembly Construction.
Three options are available for this parameter:
Automotive – Sets the 0,0,0 point of each part at the assembly origin. This provides a way to export an entire assembly where each part references the body coordinate system.
Electrode – Sets the 0,0,0 point of each part where the special Electrode UCS is located.
Electrode NC – Sets the 0,0,0 of each part where the special Electrode NC UCS is located.
Note: in the case of Electrode or Electrode NC, if these special UCS are not found in the part, the system will instead use the active UCS of the part, which is also a good option.
